NCACC Outstanding County Program Award
Sponsored by North Carolina Association of County Commissioners
The Outstanding County Program Awards honors innovative county programs in the categories of General Government, Human Services and Public Information/Participation. The Board of Directors approved the creation of the Outstanding County Program Awards in 1991 as a way to recognize innovative programs that other counties might want to emulate. The intent of the Outstanding County Program Awards is to recognize and share information with other counties about programs that involve a uniquely innovative process, solution or idea to address a county or multi-jurisdictional issue and/or to prevent a future problem from developing.

The NC Extension Association of Administrative Professionals Association offers awards for Administrative Professionals.

NCEAFCS Awards
The NC Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences offers awards for Agents Check NCEAFCS website for awards deadlines.

NCFCEA Leadership and Service Recognition Award
Check Federation Leadership and Service Recognition Award website for awards deadlines.
The Leadership and Service Recognition Award is designed to acknowledge Extension employees who have outstandingly contributed to the purpose and objectives of the Federation according to the Constitution and Bylaws.
Criteria:

  • Promotes professional improvement within their respective association and in all areas of Extension work
  • Supports and encourages the development of a united approach for total Extension programming.
  • Promotes and demonstrates high professional character and standards among all staff.
  • Promotes understanding and cooperation, and helps provide a channel for ideas exchange.
  • Establishes and maintains close relations and open lines of communication in all areas of Extension work.
  • Works for the satisfactory benefit and service of all clientele of North Carolina Cooperative Extension.

Eligible for Nomination of Award: Any association member in good standing who has exemplified and demonstrated the criteria listed above. Consideration for nomination given to individual leadership ability, quality customer service, teamwork relationships and attention to special projects.

NC State University Awards for Excellence
Check NC State Human Resources website for awards deadlines.
The University Awards for Excellence program recognizes the accomplishments and achievements of permanent NC State employees at both the unit and University levels who do not hold faculty rank.
Annually, the 18 University units/colleges collectively select 50 employees to recognize as award recipients for their respective college/units. Each college/unit submits their award recipients to the University Award for Excellence selection committee to determine the five University-level winners (4 SPA and 1 EPA). Human Resources then submits these five University-level winners to the NC Office of State Personnel for consideration in the Governor’s Awards for Excellence program.
Criteria for award recipients are:

  • Must be a permanent NC State employee (SPA or EPA staff who do not hold faculty rank at either college or unit levels).
  • Nominees must have no documented disciplinary actions against them within the preceding 18 months from date of issuance or have no active disciplinary actions pending.
  • All nominations must be approved by the employee’s supervisor for submission
