All applicants must include in their packet highlights from your annual program summary and your ERS Success Stories as it relates to the award you are applying for. Be sure your documentation meets the requirements for the awards you are applying for as well as Reference Letters
Applications & Letters must be uploaded to the Extension Awards Google Registration form. You will need to submit one PDF packet including all of your information.
Application
Submit a typed double-spaced narrative – limited to no more than 3 pages. Each award has specific criteria that must be identified in the application.
How to Get Started:
To make the application process smoother, we encourage you to review the following materials:
- Annual Program Summary/Evaluation Summary: Reflect on the year’s achievements and identify standout contributions.
- Highlights from Employees’ Annual Program Summary: Gather key successes and noteworthy efforts from your staff’s reports.
- ERS Success Stories: Use these stories to illustrate the real-world impact of your programs.
- 4-H ES237 Reports: Highlight the impressive outcomes and growth within the 4-H programs.
Please look at each application for that specific criteria. Some are professional development, some require Association membership, and some are based on work accomplishments. So please be sure to use your 3-page narrative to identify what is being asked for each award.
Reference Letters
- Applicants will also be required to submit two (2) letters of recommendation except for the RE Jones Award which requires 3.
- One of the reference letters must be from the applicant’s immediate supervisor.
*RE Jones Award requires a minimum of three (3) reference letters supporting the programming and leadership efforts of the nominee or team in effectively working with non-traditional Extension audiences.
How to Submit Nomination Packets:
- To see a description of each award, click on the Award Name on the Extension Awards Overview page.
- Do not apply or nominate someone who has previously received the award in the past 3 years. See below for a link to past winners.
- All required documents must be uploaded in the electronic award entry before submitting them. Please scan all documents into one (1) PDF file and upload it as instructed on the registration page during the registration period. Please note: Incomplete packets will not be accepted.
- Each application is to be labeled with Awardname_NomineeLastName_FirstName_ApplicationExample: Brickhouse_Smith_Joe_Application
Final approval for the annual expenditure of funds will be made by the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and/or the Associate Dean and Director of NC State Extension or their designee(s).
