North Carolina 4-H Professional Development Award(s) – The award value is a personal and perpetual plaque. Eligible for Nomination of Award: Employees in the North Central District
Awards from this Endowment shall be made to one or more employees in the North Central District by the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Director of the NC State Extension, or their designee, in accordance with the established procedures for recognizing outstanding employee contributions. Recognition shall be announced in any district meeting deemed appropriate by the selection committee or it will be awarded annually at Extension Conference when there is a State-Wide Annual Conference.
Application Narrative Requirements:
All applicants must include an Application as well as Reference Letters
Submit a typed double-spaced narrative – limited to no more than 3 pages that include:
- PART I Describe programs, events, or activities that the nominee or team planned and implemented with traditional/non-traditional extension audiences and provided a solution to a specific need of the target audience.
- PART II Describe leadership qualities of the nominee or team which contributed to their ability to successfully involve the target audience in the outreach effort described in Part I.
- PART III Describe how the work ethics of the individual or team contributed to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs, events, or activities described in Part I.
Reference Letters
Applicants will also be required to submit 2 letters of recommendation.
One of the reference letters must be from the applicant’s immediate supervisor.
Final approval for the annual expenditure of funds will be made by the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and/or the Associate Dean and Director of N.C. Cooperative Extension or their designee(s).
