Eligible for Nomination of Award: County Extension Directors
How to Apply:- Outline your Extension employment history and Extension accomplishments (within the past five years, including impacts).
- Outline your higher education history.
- Describe:
- The professional development activities you have undertaken in the past five years.
- Future plans for professional development.
- The graduate education program in which you are enrolled and how the program relates to your current position in CES.
- How the program will enhance your professional competencies to provide leadership within CES.
- Prior performance and an individual commitment to professional growth as a County Extension Director
- List the name and address of your local newspaper for press release notification.
Reference Letters
Applicants will also be required to submit 2 letters of recommendation.
One of the reference letters must be from the applicant's immediate supervisor.
Dr. Billy Caldwell served as the Head of the Crop Science Department from 1975 through 1989, as Assistant Director, ANR/CRD from 1989 through 1997, and then served as Associate Director of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service from 1997 until he retired on December 31, 1999.
Dr. and Mrs. Caldwell established the Billy and Wilma Caldwell Extension Leadership Award for County Extension Directors as a professional development award to increase professional competencies in leadership for County Extension Directors.
The award will be based on prior performance and an individual commitment to professional growth as a County Extension Director. The award is to be used to enhance the recipient’s leadership qualities.
