CALS Community,

The university has provided updated guidance on the 2025 Federal Transition, which you can find here: NC State 2025 Federal Transition.

These changes currently apply to specific federal grants that include DEI and community benefits plans. If you are unsure whether an activity falls under these restrictions, please refer to the resource page or reach out to the NCARS office for clarification.

As part of this transition, some federally funded projects are receiving stop orders — official notifications directing work on specific grants or contracts to pause immediately. If you receive a stop order, do not take any further action on the federally funded project and forward the notice to Holly Lipkovich and me (Steve Lommel) immediately so we can ensure compliance and coordinate next steps.

This guidance is subject to change as more information becomes available. Please review the latest updates on the university’s resource page, and I encourage you to reach out with any questions.

We understand the uncertainties of the current situation, and we are working diligently to monitor the situation and support the needs of our college during this time. Please know that we’re monitoring this carefully and will share additional information as it becomes available.

Please share this information with others who may be impacted.

~Steve
