Collapse ▲The mileage policy exception for off-campus NC State Extension employees was updated in June 2018. The new language clarifies this is a blanket exemption for all work-related travel accomplished by off-campus Extension personnel who are employees of NC State University.

- Exception from the Office of State Budget Management (OSBM) mileage policy for all work-related travel for all off-campus NC State Extension employees.
- Off-campus employee definition: an employee whose work location of record is greater than two miles from the NC State University campus in Raleigh, with the campus boundaries being defined by the NC State campus map. This includes NC State employees with Extension appointments in all county centers, research stations, etc.
- NC State Extension employee definition: an NC State employee whose salary is in whole or in part funded with state or federal agricultural Extension funds. This policy update does not impact Extension employees with N.C. A&T State University.
