Nominate a Local Farmer for the 2025 N.C. Grange Farmer of the Year

(Updated: Sept. 29, 2025, 8:54 a.m.)

The North Carolina Grange is now accepting nominations for the 2025 North Carolina Farmer of the Year. The program recognizes outstanding North Carolina farmers for their dedication to agriculture, community service and innovation on the farm.

It’s also a powerful way for our local Extension centers to lift up producers doing incredible work while reinforcing the vital relationship between Extension and North Carolina agriculture.

The winner — along with two finalists — will be recognized during the North Carolina Farmers Appreciation Day celebration on November 6, 2025, in Raleigh. Each honoree receives statewide recognition, a cash award (up to $5,000 for the winner), and a spotlight on their contribution to North Carolina agriculture. Nominating Extension centers are also eligible for monetary awards.

This is a great opportunity to showcase the strength and diversity of North Carolina’s farming communities — and the deep local relationships that Extension fosters across the state. If you know a local producer who goes above and beyond, consider taking a few minutes to help share their story. Help us celebrate North Carolina’s farmers — and show the value of Extension’s relationships in the field — by nominating a farmer from your community today.
